This July 23-27, every Homer relation is invited to the Homer Family Reunion in Salt Lake City, Utah – the world headquarters of genealogical research. During this event, you have the opportunity to hear from noted historians Glenn Rawson (glennrawson.com) and Kenneth Godfrey, (rsc.byu.edu/authors/godfrey-kenneth-w). We will be entertained by the vocal group, Eclipse, (eclipse6.com) as well as the historical band led by Clive Romney (cliveromney.com) – best known as the founder of Enoch Train.

It begins with a Thursday evening social to break the ice at the Oasis Café located at 151 S. 500 E. SLC, UT

Friday morning, Salt Lake City holds a “Days of ’47” Pioneer Parade at 9:00 am. http://www.daysof47.com/events/days-of-47-parade. Bring you family to enjoy this fun salute to our ancestors, then meet at the LDS Church on 142 West 200 North near Quince Street in downtown Salt Lake City for a day filled with activities and workshops for all ages. We finish the day with a birthday celebration led by Clive Romney and The Utah Heritage Arts program with boot-stompin’ tunes and stories to dance and delight the young and young at heart. We close just in time for you to take your family to any of the 5 local fireworks displays.

Saturday morning we start our ‘Day of Discovery’ in the LDS Church on 2nd Avenue and ‘A’ Street downtown Salt Lake City. There will be workshops and activities as well as a Scavenger Hunt for the Youth throughout Temple Square. Our renown speakers and multi-media presentations will engage adults and children as well as trace the history of our ancestors. Glenn Rawson will be our concluding speaker and then – holy smokes – we have Eclipse in concert! This vocal group has entertained audiences throughout the US and Asia selling out multiple albums.

Music and the Spoken Word will start our Sunday activities at the downtown Salt Lake City LDS Conference Center at 60 N. West Temple. Parking is available across the street and on the street. Handicapped parking is directly west of the Conference Center. Bring the whole family to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as we remember our many ancestors who were founders of this choir and other members throughout the years. Elder J. Richard Clarke, emeritus member of the First Quorum of Seventy for the LDS Church will be our concluding speaker in the City Creek Marriott one block South at 75 S. West Temple.

If you are staying through Monday, hooray! We will be attending classes at the Family History Center at 35 N. West Temple in downtown Salt Lake City.
